MedPlast Hosts Seminar On Thermoset Elastomers
-
(Tempe, AZ -- March 31, 2010) MedPlast plans to host a technical thermoset elastomer seminar for healthcare manufacturers on May 5 and 6 in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. It will address materials selection and testing, as well as the processing and molding of elastomers. The seminar is designed to help healthcare professionals stay current with the latest developments in materials processing, develop a better understanding of elastomeric materials, and explore molding options for medical applications. There is no fee to attend this two-day seminar, but seating is limited. The registration deadline is Friday, April 23rd.
"Elastomer processing is often characterized as more difficult to understand than traditional plastic injection molding," said Bernie Stritzke, Vice President and General Manager of MedPlast's Elkhorn, Wisconsin facility and author of Custom Molding of Thermoset Elastomers - A Comprehensive Approach to Materials, Mold Design and Processing. "This seminar is designed to address the needs of medical device manufacturers who require a more in-depth knowledge of materials processing."
In addition to Mr. Stritzke who has nearly 30 years of experience in elastomers and holds nine patents on rubber seals and gaskets, there will be two other presenters. Prakash Pawar, Senior Engineer for Momentive Performance Materials (formerly GE Silicones), will deliver a perspective on the industry followed by an interactive Q&A session. He has been in the field for 30 years and holds several patents in addition to his specific experience in overmolding of self-bondable silicones. Fred Sadr, Technical Director for MedPlast's Elkhorn facility will also be presenting. Mr. Sadr has over 40 years of experience in product and process development activities relating to elastomeric materials engineering, tooling and manufacturing engineering. He was formerly the Director of Research, Development and Engineering for Goodyear Engineered Products.
Attendees will have an opportunity to see applications in a real world environment at MedPlast's Elkhorn facility. For more information on the seminar and to register online, visit the MedPlast website at www.medplastgroup.com/seminar or call Barbara Glenn at 480-553-6464. A block of rooms have been reserved for guests attending this seminar at the Lake Geneva Inn, Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
