(TEMPE, Arizona, February 8, 2010) - MedPlast, Inc. has added extrusion blow molding to its extensive range of services. The blow molding capability at MedPlast's Tempe facility, which also includes clean room injection molding and assembly, is scaled to meet the needs of medical component manufacturers with production runs that might otherwise fall below the requirements of the general blow molding community. These added capabilities have contributed to the manufacturing facility in Tempe, AZ having sales revenues more than double year-to-year. In addition, at this location they've also recently added operations, quality and engineering staff to manage their aggressive growth. The Company's primary goal is to build its customer relationships and cement its role as an integrated, one-stop supplier for OEM product makers in the Healthcare market.
According to David Mulera, the company's Director of Corporate Engineering and Vice President/General Manager of its Tempe headquarters, the addition of extrusion blow molding will be an asset to customers with specific blow molding needs looking to consolidate sourcing under one roof. "This will underscore our technical capabilities and our customer-facing orientation," Mulera said. "We strive to deliver the utmost in quality as we help them keep costs down. Further, our new capability illustrates how far we will go to service the needs of our valued customers, some of the most demanding and innovative OEMs in the field. We are far more than just injection molders; we strive to be build partnerships with our customers in every sense," added Mulera. "Our knowledge of the industry tells us that there are a number of other medical manufacturers in the same position, looking to consolidate their blow molding requirements with other work under one roof."
In addition to the Company's Tempe headquarters, MedPlast operates manufacturing facilities in West Berlin, New Jersey; Westfield, Pennsylvania; Elkhorn, Wisconsin, and Monticello, Iowa. All five world-class facilities offer a wide range of manufacturing capabilities such as multi-shot molding, elastomeric molding, specialty mold manufacturing and complex product assembly. As a result, the company has worked collectively to provide custom manufacturing solutions for its customer base and has played a key role in the introduction of many new, and highly challenging, product introductions in the Healthcare and Consumer/specialty markets.
"Today's customers need advanced engineering expertise, as well as a wide range of other services," Mulera said. "In today's competitive, global, environment, successful suppliers need to synchronize a variety of skills in their toolbox to meet the demands of healthcare OEMs. The old notion of a single capability - molding or moldbuilding, for example - is not enough." MedPlast has multi-component and multi-material technology, as well as the ability to formulate materials for complex elastomer and silicone applications.
